All Day
In appreciation for Pastor Carol Petersen's 20 years of service to Grace Lutheran Church and the Mendham Community, the people of Grace are partnering with Operation Gratitude to collect items for active military, their
families, veterans, and first responders. Pastor Carol's sons are both active 
duty in the Armed Forces. Operation Gratitude sends 250,000+ packages to those in need. We are also collecting letters of gratitude, thanking those who serve to keep us safe. The church is open to drop off donations on Tuesdays from 10am-2pm, Wednesdays from 6:30pm-9:00pm, and Sundays from 8am-12pm. We will be collecting until 2/25/18. Ginger Ninja Productions is returning to the American Legion Post 493 this Valentine’s weekend for the 3rd annual dinner and comedy night, brought to you by the Ladies’ Auxiliary and SAL! Headlining this show is Davin, whose credits include Comedy Central, I Heart Radio and his nationally syndicated radio show, “Davin’s Den.” He has also had the pleasure of entertaining the troops overseas! Also appearing on this show are Sean Morton (The Borgata Atlantic City, Friars Club) and your host Natty Bumpercar (Broadway Comedy Club, Greenwich Village Comedy Club). This event is being held SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH at the Mystic Island American Legion Post 493, located at 420 Radio Rd. in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Welcome to the 3rd Annual Puppies & Patriots fundraiser! Team Foster hosts this annual fundraiser to provide service dogs to veterans. It's the ultimate trifecta: veterans, puppies and beer! Featured is our world famous PUPPY KISSING BOOTH. With the help of our partners, Susquehanna Service Dogs, all seven of the Team Foster Heroes Litter will be in attendance. At just 8 weeks old, there will be plenty of puppy cuddles and puppy kisses to share! Also included is one hour of COMPLIMENTARY drinks from 5:30-6:30pm, then drink specials for the rest of the night. Tickets are $25 at the door. Cash or credit accepted. Come out, support a great cause and have a great time. Team Foster is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in honor of Captain Erick Foster and dedicated to ensuring there is No Hero Left Behind. The donation price for attending is $20.00 dollars, ADVANCE ticket sales only, which includes a pasta dinner, beer, wine and a rose for the ladies. Philadelphia, Penna.: Monday, February 12, 2018 Annual Lincoln Birthday Celebration Parade and Ceremonies, sponsored by the Union League of Philadelphia. Civil War military units, civilians, and heritage groups are welcome and encouraged to march in the parade through Philadelphia to Independence Hall to honor President Lincoln on his birthday. Participants will gather at the Union League, 140 S. Broad St. by 10am. Convenient FREE parking available for participants near the Union League, but arrival must be prior to 10:00am. RSVP required. Pick up a ticket at the Sansom St. garage; proceed to next intersection, cross 15th St and park in garage on the right. Color Guards, Firing Party, music, and wreaths are appreciated. There will be a complimentary lunch for the participants at 12 noon. After the parade ALL are invited to return to the Union League via coach for refreshments and entertainment in the historic League House. Black History Month Special Program Title: Encouraging Diversity in the National Guard Whether conscious or unconscious, gender microaggressions affect judgments, access, and culture. If left unchecked microaggressions can hinder equity perspectives, diversity, civility and perceptions of self-worth. This engaging presentation provides participants with a framework for a critical analysis of microaggressions that fosters a deeper understanding of our diverse nation’s need for tools to promote positive connections. Our Guest speaker will be Dr. Carvalho-Grevious. She is the State Equal Employment Manager for the Pennsylvania National Guard, where she serves as the principal advisor to the Adjutant General and manages the Equal Opportunity Programs. She is an experienced EEO mediator and licensed social worker. She earned her doctorate in Social Work, Master of Social Science (MSW equivalent) and Master of Law and Social Policy degrees from Bryn Mawr College. In addition, she received her Master of Education degree from Boston University and B.A. degree (in Psychology) from La Salle University. Dress Code: Business Attire
